Hi!

I think you should check out the Baby Joy Lightweight Stroller and the Summer Infant 3D Lite Stroller. We’ve got them both reviewed in our Best Umbrella Stroller article: https://www.experiencedmommy.com/best-umbrella-stroller/.

Both of them come in at under $100 (at the time of this posting) and work for kids up to 50 pounds.

Let us know which stroller you end up going with!

Hey there!

My recommendation for you would be the Uppababy G-Luxe. We talk about it in this article: https://www.experiencedmommy.com/best-umbrella-stroller/.

The important thing for you is that the seat back is 21 inches, with lots of headspace under the canopy. You can see from the pictures that you have plenty of room for a tall kiddo, while still being a lightweight stroller.

Another idea would be to try a stroller wagon. It’s a bit unconventional, but it works great for big kids! Here’s our favorites: https://www.experiencedmommy.com/best-stroller-wagon/.

Good luck in your search! Let me know which stroller ends up working for you!

My daughter just turned three, but the top of her head to her bottom already measures 23 inches. I’m struggling to find a lightweight stroller with a tall enough back rest. Any recommendations, please?

Do you know of a stockist who may ship to Australia?
Kind regards

My son is 5.5 yrs old and 44lbs. We’re going on a trip with lots of walking. Looking for a compact umbrella stroller at the most economical price. Any suggestions please?

Hey!

So you’ll probably want to look at modular strollers/prams. These usually have seats that can be flipped to face the parent or to face out.

Here are my suggestions:
-The Joovy Balloon. We’ve got a whole article covering it: https://www.experiencedmommy.com/joovy-balloon-stroller-review/. It’s lightweight and has a reversible seat, but the overall weight limit is only 45 pounds, so you’ll likely outgrow it fairly quickly. The seat back is 21 inches, so there should be enough room there.
-The UPPAbaby Vista. It’s expensive, but it has a large reversible seat with a 50 pound weight limit. It also has a 21 inch seat back. We talk about it in this article: https://www.experiencedmommy.com/uppababy-vista-vs-baby-jogger-city-select/.

Unfortunately, with a big toddler, your choices for parent-facing prams are few and far between.

I hope one of these suggestions helps!

Baby Jogger makes great strollers. I love the City Tour stroller, but it’s definitely not a jogging stroller if that’s what you are looking for. It has small tires that are EVA foam, which can get really beat up by gravel or other rocky terrain. Plus, the weight limit only goes up to 45 pounds. That’s not bad, as it will probably get you to about age 4 or maybe 5, but it’s really not that high.

I would opt for the City Mini GT by Baby Jogger instead. It has bigger, air-filled/foam hybrid tires, is built for jogging, and still is pretty lightweight and folds small. Check out the breakdown in this article: https://www.experiencedmommy.com/city-select-versus-city-mini-gt-review/.

Take a look and see what you think! I love the sleek style and versatility of the City Mini GT.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, how about the Baby Jogger City Tour stroller, one of my friends suggested it since you can pretty much use it in any terrain, and that it`s lighter in weight as well. would you recommend it? Thanks.
