Pete Newell
Pete Newell hall of fame basketball teaching legend brings his internationally recognized drills and instructional techniques
for the development of the inside player to California.
Pete Newell had an outstanding career as the men's basketball coach at USF, Michigan State, and the University of California
Berkeley. He won the NIT championship at San Francisco, the NCAA championship in 1959 at Cal, the NCAA runner up in 1960
again at Cal, and he also won the Olympic gold medal at Rome in 1960.
Following his 21 year coaching career Pete served as the athletic director at Cal and filled the general manager and consulting
positions with three different NBA franchises. His work internationally with the Japanese Basketball Association earned him
the recognition of "The Order Of The Sacred Treasure" from the Emperor of Japan in 1987.
Over the past 28 years, Coach Newell has conducted clinics and camps throughout the world. Most notable have been the
Big Man Camps in Honolulu, HI and recently Las Vegas, NV during the summers. The Big Man Camps have provided NBA stars and
aspiring college players opportunities to focus on their footwork and fundamentals while concentrating on reading the defense.
The past several years Pete has brought his teaching staff to the college and high school women's game. His staff of
outstanding coaches will improve your inside game.

Ann Meyers
Ann Meyers is one of the true pioneers in women's basketball, Hall of Famer and award winning broadcaster. Ann is in
her first year as General Manager of the WNBA's Phoenix Murcury in addition she has been named Vice-President with the Phoenix
Suns.
As an amateur, Meyers was the first woman to receive a full athletic scholarship from UCLA. The UCLA basketball legend
was a four-time Kodak All-American, the first male or female to receive that honor. Upon graduation Meyers hold 12 of 13
school records and led the Bruins to a national Championship in 1978. Meyers wasw the first female to be named to the schools
athletic Hall of Fame and had her jersey, #15 retired.

Pete Newell Jr.
Pete Newell Jr. recently concluded a highly successful career as the boy's coach at Santa Cruz, Ca. High winning over
500 games and reaching the central coast section playoffs 20 times culminating in State Division 3 Boys Championship this
past season. Pete is also a staff director of the Pete Newell Big Man Camp.
Pete's teaching style emphasizes the importance of mastering the mental aspects of the game and solid preparation through
the fundamentals.
Pete was a star forward at San Jose State during his collegiate playing days and played for Sub-Pac during his Navy career.

Bill McClintock
Bill McClintock was a starting forward on Pete Newell's NCAA championship Cal Berkeley team and the 1960 NCAA runner up.
As a collegian McClintock set a Pac 8 (10) rebounding record in 1961 that stood until broken in 1967 by then UCLA sophmore
Lew Alcinder a.k.a. Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
McClintock has coached at the high school level as well as the NCAA Division 1 University of San Francisco which made
a Sweet 16 appearance in 1972. He has also been an assistant coach at San Jose State and most recently the head coach at
Cal State Monterey Bay. In addition he has taught at clinics and camps throughout his career. He has given clinics throughout
the US and most recently in French Guyana.
Bill is also a staff member of the Pete Newell Big Man Camp now being held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bill specializes on
moves for the inside player. He teaches rebounding, footwork, and positioning.

Wendy Anae
Wendy has been a coach with the Tall Women's Camp since its inception. The former Hawaiian High School Coach of The Year
is currently head coach at BYU-Hawaii. In 2003 she coached the Samoan National Team to the South Pacific Games Championship.

Christen Roper
Christen Roper was a 4 year starter for th e University of Hawaii (1999-2003). She holds school and league records for
blocked shots. Hawaii played in the post season all four of Christens years. She has played proffesionally in Europe since
graduation. She is an excellent teacher and also demonstrates all the camp post moves. She is an ex-Pete Newell Tall Women
camper.

Mandy Carver
Mandy Carver completed a highly successful college career at Idaho State University. She led the nation in rebounding
in 2002 with a 13.6 average, and as a member of the Big Sky Champions, was a tournament and conference MVP in 2000-2001.
She signed as a free-agent for the Detroit Shock in 2002, and now plays professionally in Europe. She is an ex-Pete Newell
Tall Women camper

Ruthie Bolton
|
| |
Ruthie Bolton is an olympic gold medalist (1996, 2000). She was selected to the All-WNBA First Team (1997, 1999), was
a Two-time WNBA All-Star, was the WNBA's fourth all-time leader in 3-pointers made, and scored over 2,000 career-points.
